From the Caribbean Coast to the salsa capital of the world, experience two distinct cities and the best they have to offer in this whirlwind juxtaposition of two popular Colombian destinations. Cali is an up-and-coming city in the Valle Cauca where one of our co-founder’s family is from, and Cartagena is home to our other co-founder, making this trip as authentic and informative as can be. Cali is a burgeoning tourist destination surrounded by sugar cane fields and welcoming pueblos and Cartagena is a well-known Colombian destination that complements the feeling of Cali in its nightlife, love of music and dance, and sociable hosts!

Day 1: Welcome to Cartagena!

Welcome to the country’s most visited city by the sea. Get to know Cartagena’s vibrant history via a city tour and walking tour of the historic downtown. Our bilingual guide will break down the city’s history and bring you up to speed with current trends in politics, business, culture, and tourism...and more. Suggested end to the day is enjoying sunset at Cafe del Mar, right on the water.

Day 1: Welcome to Cali!

Transfer to airport

Welcome to Cali! Get settled at your hotel and take off for an orientation to the city with a walking tour and welcome cocktails

Day 2: Explore Islas Rosarios and the island of Baru

Oh, THAT turquoise water…

Take a full day to enjoy the famous Islas Rosarios in a private boat for you and your travel partners. Enjoy another beachside lunch and take an extended dip in sparkling turquoise water.

At night: shake a leg at Bazurto Social Club or other famous salsa spots. Conversely, take in the local scene with a dinner in Getsemani plaza. Suggestions on us.

Day 5: Get Active

Enjoy a gastronomical and cultural tour of one of Colombia’s most famous indoor markets (La Galleria!) Sample tropical fruits and drinks along the way.

Optional: Follow up with an excursion to famous Rio Pance for tubing and river adventures. See how the locals spend their weekends.

Day 3: Fresh Catch in La Boquilla

Learn about Cartagena’s famous fishing village, La Boquilla, with an ecological mangroves tour in canoe followed by fresh fish lunch on the beach. Cultural presentation by local groups available.

Option: Make it a full day and visit the famous mud volcano (“El Totumo” in the morning), followed by the La Boquilla experience + lunch

At night: Have a cocktail at the top of the Movich or spring for a full seafood dinner at the famous Cevicheria.

Day 6: Shake a leg…

You know you have to try salsa right? Enjoy a private class with salsa caleña instructor extraordinaire. Enjoy some down time at the hotel before heading out for your last night.
